A Day in May

Yay for Spring and Sunshine!

We are enjoying the good weather when it is here. Nothing new and exciting to report, really. Colin on occasion says a new word like "shoe", but mostly signs his words. He actually picks up on sign language vocabulary pretty quickly. He impressed a language specialist that goes to his day care every week.

Playoffs 2009

here is a little video i found. In honor of our Portland Trailblazers!

New Furniture

We have been talking about getting some newer furniture. My grandparent's left a set behind us, but we wanted to get a new fresh look and feel to our home. I was searching on craigslist and looking at furniture outlets, but we couldnt find anything that was nice enough that fit in out price range. we also werent too excited about getting someone else's old furniture. A couple weeks ago, I was back on Craigslist and i found a very nice set that was brand new and only $600!!!! i was sceptical at first, so I contacted the seller to find out why it was so cheap. He was a small business owner and didnt have any overhead, so he could sell for a really decent price. also its not top of the line name brand. so its not as expensive. however, it is still very nice furniture and we really like it. on another note....the guy was actually my manager's brother! so I felt he was very trust worthy.

here are some pics of what we got!

The Sickness

Somehow I was infected with strep tonsillitis last weekend. It was rather unpleasant. Its funny, I never had it much as a child but in the last three years I've gotten it twice. But don't worry as of yesterday I was fully recovered! Just in time to catch Colin's cold.
How is it that I'm the one eating fruits and veggies, taking vitamins and getting sick! Jared doesn't watch what he eats and rarely gets sick! AND he has good cholesterol! Maybe healthy eating is overrated.

Tortured Soul

So Colin decided a few weeks ago that he would prefer not to sleep in his bed. No, he would rather scream like a banshee or as if someone lit him on fire. We aren't sure what has changed. Did he have a bad experience in his room at night? Did a monster creep out from under his crib? This is what happens when he doesn't get adequate sleep during the night:

Of course after we pulled him out of the chair, brushed his teeth, donned his jams he was wide awake. And still went to bed later than his "normal" bedtime!

However, he does have really cute and hilarious moments that we truly enjoy:

Vegas Trip 2009

For our anniversary, Jared and I went to Las Vegas (on the dime of Tahiti Village!). Grandma Bonnie came into town to take care of Colin. I was sad at the airport when we left Colin behind, but he didn't seem to mind. I wonder if he even noticed we were gone for 4 days. Here's some photos.
