Stopped by the Fuzz

Holy crap! Is this actually a new blog by the Butlers?

I (andrea) was stopped by a policeman on the way to work yesterday. He thought that I wasn't wearing my seat belt. I was, and he fortunately gave me the "benefit of the doubt". Whatever.

On to Colin. He's almost a year old! Memorial Day weekend we went all went to Heather's (Jared's younger sister) and Tyler's wedding in Bend. Colin took his first couple of unassisted steps (unintentionally) on the 25th. He's taken a few steps since then, but doesn't really choose to do any solo walking. He enjoys walking while holding on to someone else's hand. In fact, he loves it. He still loves yelling, too. Or maybe he's singing along with the Phantom of the Opera CD. :o)

April

Colin usually knows what to do when a camera is pulled out. But sometimes its difficult to get a good shot of him for the frame for his monthly photos. Here are the many faces of Colin:

Finally - the 10 Month Photo!

We've done a little traveling the last couple of months to visit family. For Easter, we were in Eugene visiting Cousin Ainsley.

Just last weekend we went to Bend for Aunt Heather's bridal shower. Colin got to ride in a red wagon with (soon-to-be) Cousin Kylee!

Mad Marchness

Ok, so I'm copying Adam Carolla with the title.

I'm glad that the snow waited to fall until after my studded tires were removed. Its so weird that its snowing right now.

My apologies for the belated Colin update, we were lacking a computer for a while and we've just been crazy busy. Colin figured out how to crawl and pull himself up to standing within a few days-just before he turned 9 months. He lets go of things to try to stand on his own. I think his record is somewhere between 10 and 15 seconds. I'm guessing he will be walking before he turns a year old. Here he is in all his cuteness!

Happy Anniversary and 1st Blazer game!

Tonight Colin attended his 1st ever NBA Game! Colin, Andrea and I watched the Portland Trailblazers take on the Seattle Supersonics. Well, we only watched the first half. Colin actually did really well. But it was a later tip-off, so it would be a late night for our little man. Honestly, it was more of a "test the waters" deal. I didnt get my expectations up too high...he is a little baby for goodness sakes. But he did really well for his first experience of the RoseGarden. It was fun watching him be really curious as to "why the room was so big." "Why were there so many people here yelling at each other?" "This is weird!"

Also, Colin was so excited about his experience that he pee'd on his mom's pants! Please take into mind...Yes he did have his pants on still!

Anyway, It was a really fun evening out with the family.

This was also Andrea's and my 2 Year Anniversary of being together. 2 years ago tomorrow, we went on our 2nd date to a Blazer game! So when I got my tickets for the year, I saw that there was a game right near the same date from 2 yrs ago. Pretty cool, I think.

here are a couple pics of the evening.

(sigh)

It's been a rough day for me with the Colin. He's felt the need to yell at me all day and explore his vocal range. That reminds me, I need to refill my birth control pills...

Fortunately, he's done vomiting and squirting yellow diarrhea all over the place.

As I pulled him out of his car-seat after returning from the grocery store, Colin's pants got stuck on his seatbelt and slid right off of him. Oops. I wrapped his blanket around him, stuffed his pants into the diaper bag, grabbed the groceries and headed into the apartment.

Oh look, it's cocktail time.

Rise With Us

"Rise With Us" is the new slogan for the Portland TrailBlazers this season. What a great slogan. It says alot about where the team is going. As most know, the Blazers went through quite a few years of troubled times. (Randolph, Wallace, Miles, Stoudamire, just to name a few). They even were given the nickname, the JailBlazers. They have done alot to get out of this stage of life. Out with the old, and in with the new. Luckily, Colin was born into the new era.

Colin will have his first visit to the Rose Garden to watch the TrailBlazers battle their NW rival, the Seattle SuperSonics on Feb. 21st! So we (his dad) decided it was necessary for him to own his own Blazer Gear. Momma A-Train needed some gear also, as this will be a family event.

There just so happens to be a game on today, so Colin wanted to try out his new gear while watching the game with his dad and his new buddy Blaze the Trail Cat.

What a little Stud Colin is!

Poor Sick Colin

Its been a rough week for Baby Colin. He threw up a river on Wednesday morning. Yesterday he did it again - twice. He's also had diarrhea several times (really fun to clean up!). A word of advice for future parents: if your baby is having diarrhea, lay the child down on a boppy pillow or something. That way the poo will shoot into the diaper instead of up the back, staining the outfit.

He hasn't been sleeping well, which means I haven't been sleeping well. However, with the exception of Wednesday, Colin seems to be in good spirits. He doesn't let the spewing get him down.
